Instructions
To "grab" the earth, press the mouse button while the cursor is either on the
earth or within the black border area. The automatic rotation will stop.
With the mouse button down, you can now control the earth. Spin the earth by moving the mouse
left or right. Zoom the earth in and out by moving the mouse down and up.
To resume automatic rotation, release the mouse button. |
Extensions to this demonstration can include: animated weather patterns, multiple map
projections (equirectangular, Mercator, etc.), closer zoom-in with automatic higher
resolution imagery, up / down rotation in addition to polar rotation, country location
highlighting, geographic database navigation, touring the Solar System, etc.
